Position: Personal support worker - home support for elderly

Employer: Hao Family

Work Setting: Private home

Location: Richmond, BC

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Salary: $23.50 hourly / 33 hours per week

Working scheduleMonday to Friday 6:30–11:30 and 4:30–5:30 / Saturday 6:30-9:30

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time 

Start Date: As soon as possible

Requirement

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Credentials: First Aid Certificate / Personal Support Worker Certificate is prefered

Transportation/Travel: Public transportation is available, Willing to travel

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Weight handling up to Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Personal Suitability: Client focus / Dependability / Efficient interpersonal skills / Excellent oral communication / Flexibility

Responsibilities:

1.       Assist clients with regular physical activities, such as walking and gentle exercises

2.       Wash and care for clothing and household linens

3.       Mend and repair clothing and household textiles as needed

4.       Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and tidying the living space

5.       Offer companionship and emotional support to clients

6.       Shop for groceries and essential household supplies

7.       Plan, prepare, and serve balanced and nutritious meals

8.       Cook meals in accordance with clients’ dietary needs and preferences
